Our Motto

This evening, my daughter and I sat down and discussed  our homeschool motto. After praying and asking god about what it should be, I was quickly reminded of the different times over the summer that we my daughter saw these signs to hang on the wall that said something along the lines of live, laugh, and love, or something along those lines. But anyways, this got our creative juices flowing and we began to brainstorm. This is what we came up with: Love, Listen, Live, Learn and Laughter. It wasn’t in that order though. We put logic to work to put them into order. Then, we tried to put catchy sentences with each one of them. this is where she done a lot of brain smoking …. we were trying to come up with one about laughter and good medicine so I looked it up and then she noticed the Scripture that I looked up. Then she decided that we should connect Scriptures to each one of them, and so we did. She chosen which verse she felt appropriate for them. This is what we came up with:

Love / Listen / Live / Learn / Laughter

Love the Lord with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength.

"And he answered, "YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND; AND YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."" ~~ Luke 10:27

Listen
to hear God’s voice.

"The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the LORD has made both of them." ~~ Proverbs 20:12

Live
as Jesus would live.

"Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good the one who does good is of God; the one who does evil has not seen God." ~~ 3 John 1:11

Learn
to walk in the ways of the Lord.

"You shall walk in all the way which the LORD your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you will possess." ~~ Deuteronomy 5:33

Laughter
is good medicine.

"A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones." ~~ Proverbs 17:22
