I was in the archives of a forum reading someone post when I came across something very daunting. It was about American girl, so I went on a search to find more about it, and this is what I found out with references so you can verify for yourself.
This is a plea do NOT buy any AMERICAN Girl products or items!! Not even buying them used. In fact, if you have any in your home, I urge you to BURN THEM!!!
You think that’s drastic?
American Girl carries a line of dolls, books and many accessories geared toward pre-teen girls. The characters of the books are focused on different periods of American history for the girls viewpoint. But recently they expanded the line and instead of focusing on a timeline in history they are now depicting contemporary girls of today. I read that the idea was birthed from the desire of Pleasant Rowland who wanted to give her niece a doll and found none for the age group that these dolls are aimed for.
The company was founded by Pleasant Rowland in 1986. In 1998, the Company became a subsidiary of Mattel (Source: Wikipedia).
In 2005, the “I can” brand hit the market. The Company website states that they would donate 70 cents for every dollar of “I can” band sales, plus a $50k donation to Girls, Inc. (Same source cited above.) Upon reading this I had done a little research about the “I can” line. What I found was the girls received the armband and encouraged to sign a promise to believe in themselves and anything is possible.
To put it bluntly, this is a lie from the pit of hell!! Believing in yourself will not get you into heaven nor will it give you eternal life. (Source: Holy Bible Matthew 19:16-26)
On the Mattel website, reads “American Girl® celebrates a girl’s inner star – the little whisper inside that encourages her to stand tall, reach high, and dream big.” in red letters that stands out from the page!! The slogan is… “Follow your inner star.” The inner star? …the little whisper? Are you kidding me?
Family Advocates warns parents who own American Dolls (or considering it) that the owners, Mattel is partnering with pro-abortionist and pro-lesbians. (Source: WND)
Many parents do look upon American Girl products as wholesome American value items, but they are being deceived! Why would a Christian spend their God-given money to purchase something that will support abortion… the very thing that God hates! It is about time that Christians wake up and stop playing footsy with the enemy!!
