Pride and Homeschool Does Not Mix

When you try to homeschool with pride, you are in essence setting your children and yourself up to fail. Pride is mentioned 51 times negatively in the Bible. Proverbs 16: says, “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before stumbling.” If you want your children to learn something for the reason of pride or boosting to others, rather than to use a talen for “the glory of God” you set your children up for destruction.

Pride can also push you to do whatever you can to please or impress others, especially your parents or your in-laws who are against homeschooling and question your ability to educate their grandchildren.

James 4:4 says, “…whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.”

“For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.”  ~ Gal. 1:10

“Slaves, in all things obey those who are your masters on earth, not with external service, as those who merely please men, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.” ~ Col. 3:22
